Inside-Out Security Review

See your software the way attackers now can, and fix what you find before anyone else does.

AI has changed who can see inside your systems. Finding a deep weakness in source code once took a skilled attacker weeks. AI agents now do it in hours, at scale and for very little money, and people with minimal technical skill can use them. At the same time, AI writes more of your code, and Veracode found that 44% of AI code generation tasks introduced a security vulnerability in testing.

Most weak spots start inside the business: in your code, your cloud configuration and the pipelines that build and release your software. Security firms test your defences from the outside. ClearPoint reviews your software from the inside out, examining code, APIs, cloud, pipelines, access and data against recognised standards such as OWASP, and tracing each issue to its root cause.

Your board receives a clear picture of where the business stands exposed, ranked by business impact, with a roadmap scaled to your appetite for risk. Your teams receive fixes they can act on straight away, plus walkthroughs that build secure habits into daily practice, so security keeps improving long after the review ends.

When a security review pays off

Proving your security to the board and regulators.

An evidence-based view of your security posture supports obligations such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, the Essential Eight and APRA CPS 234. Risk conversations move from assumption to evidence.

Keeping pace as AI writes more of your code.

AI-assisted development puts more code into production, faster. The review checks that your controls keep up, so the speed AI brings stays safe.

Seeing behind your penetration tests.

Penetration tests probe your defences from the outside. The review examines the code, configuration and pipelines behind them, so you fix root causes as well as symptoms.

Fixing problems at the source, while they cost less.

Weak spots caught in code and configuration cost far less to fix than weak spots caught in production, or by an attacker. Your teams address them early, on their own terms.

What an engagement looks like

Every review starts with your business. We agree what matters most, which systems sit in scope and how far you want to go. Our engineers then examine your architecture, code, APIs, dependencies, cloud, containers, pipelines, access and data, using modern AI tools to cover more ground in less time. We walk your leadership through every finding, ranked by severity and business impact, and hand over an executive summary, a detailed findings register with exact references and evidence, an OWASP scorecard, and a roadmap split into quick wins, medium-term fixes and structural improvements.

Walkthrough sessions transfer the knowledge to your engineering teams, and an optional re-validation review confirms your fixes hold. The review sits alongside your existing penetration testing and scales with the size and complexity of your organisation.

Security review services

Code and API security review

A detailed review of your source code and APIs for insecure patterns, injection flaws, broken access control and business logic weaknesses, including AI components where present.

Software supply chain review

An assessment of your third-party and open-source components and the pipelines that build and release your software, including build integrity and separation between environments.

Cloud and infrastructure security review

A review of your AWS, Azure or GCP configuration, infrastructure code and containers for insecure defaults, network exposure and drift from secure baselines.

Access and secrets review

Checks on who and what can reach your systems, from role design and privileged access to passwords, keys and tokens sitting in code or logs.

Data protection and monitoring review

A trace of how you classify, store, encrypt and retain sensitive data, and whether your logs capture security events without leaking information.

Security remediation roadmap

A prioritised plan from quick wins to structural improvements, with code-level fixes and hands-on sessions so your teams can act straight away.

Common questions

How is this different from a penetration test?

A penetration test probes your systems from the outside, the way an attacker would. The Inside-Out Security Review examines the code, configuration and pipelines behind those systems, so it finds weak spots that sit beyond an outside view and traces them to their root cause. The two work best together, and the review complements your existing testing program.

We already use scanning tools. What does the review add?

Scanning tools flag known problems line by line, and they form a useful part of the picture. The review adds engineering judgement to assess design, business logic, configuration and ways of working, and ranks every finding by what matters to your business. We use modern tools too, which lets us cover more ground faster.

How long does a review take?

Duration depends on the size and complexity of your software landscape and how far you want to go. We agree scope with you at the start, so the timeline, effort and investment match your priorities and appetite for risk.

Will you fix what you find?

Your roadmap includes code-level and configuration-level fixes your own teams can apply, plus walkthrough sessions to build the skills. Where you want extra capacity, ClearPoint’s engineers can deliver the remediation alongside your teams, and an optional re-validation review confirms the fixes hold.
