The Challenge / Driving force
A global healthcare company runs a bespoke AWS solution that replicates cloud-hosted databases worldwide, giving enterprise customers real-time diagnostic insights and the ability to track long-term health trends. As data volumes and worldwide demand grew, the client saw an opportunity to strengthen their infrastructure and improve reliability. Their support team, spread across multiple regions, was managing database changes manually as the environment scaled, and needed a more automated way of working. The client wanted a setup that could keep pace with that growth without putting the service their enterprise customers depend on at risk.
The Solution / Process / Project / Approach
The client engaged a ClearPoint AWS engineer to review their existing setup and identify practical ways to resolve technical bottlenecks. Working closely with the client's data warehouse team, the focus was to implement fixes that would immediately improve system stability.
Together, ClearPoint built an on-demand, non-production environment and enhanced the observability of their live systems. This allows the client’s team to safely test changes prior to deployment, protecting the live service. We also added automated issue resolution and enhanced alerting, ensuring the support team receives immediate notifications when complex issues arise. To support long-term planning, the engagement concluded with a detailed report based on a deeper dive into the environment. This gives the client's team a clear roadmap for future improvements.
The Outcome
The client now operates a more resilient reporting infrastructure across both testing and production. With the new non-production environment, their team can safely test changes before rollout, improving the stability of the customer-facing service. The on-demand test environment is shut down when not in use to save the client money. Alongside this, greater observability was introduced over the live environment meaning engineers are notified of potential issues earlier, allowing for faster corrective action. The client now has an AWS infrastructure built for reliable reporting, giving frontline professionals dependable diagnostic data to support their customers.
